On May 30, 1898 William Ramsay and Morris Travers discovered Krypton, the earth is 0.0001% Krypton. While studying liquefied air, they boiled volatile components and small amounts of liquid Krypton remained. When you extract Helium and Randon out of the air you get Krypton. You can find Krypton in photographic flashes also used in high speed photography you can also find it in fluorescent. Krypton is a chemical element. There are no compounds that Krypton is commonly found in. Krypton is in Group 8 Period 4 it is in this way because all the ones next to it are all metal gases and krypton is a metal gas.
